The Search Committee of Harvest Acres Baptist Church surveyed the attending membership finding a strong consensus of opinions relating to the qualifications of applicants for the position of Senior Pastor. These are listed as follows; A. A non-negotiable position on the inerrancy of Scripture B. A priority of expository teaching and preaching C. A clear personal testimony of conversion and spiritual growth D. A “calling” to pastoral ministry E. A family life consistent with Scriptural principles F. The church was started as a mission church of First Baptist Church of Mineola to meet the needs of people in the West Mineola and Lake Holbrook areas in 1987. The first services were held at different locations and in member’s homes. Land was purchased in 1989 at our current location. Construction was begun on a building with the first regular services in the new building held on December 17, 1989. Our staff currently consists of an Interim Pastor, our Music Minister, Pianist, and Nursery Coordinator. Harvest Acres Baptist Church faithfully serves the Lord and the community. We are a praying church that loves people and seeks to do God’s will in all areas of ministry. We are a stable church body with no debt and is blessed with consistent steady giving. The average Sunday School attendance is 25 and the average for the worship service is 50-70 people weekly. There is also a group that meets in the home of one of our church members once a week. We welcome any who choose to visit our church. We serve and minister to people of Mineola and the surrounding areas and towns. Our goal is that the ethnic mix of our congregation would match that of the community as we grow. We support missions with offerings of 8% of our undesignated funds to the SBCT Cooperative Program. Harvest Acres Baptist Church members annually contribute individually to Lottie Moon, Annie Armstrong, and to Reach Texas. There are other mission ministries that we support as well. We participate in our local community festivals where we give out free water and we offer prayer and encouragement to people. We give support to mission fundraisers such as the Heart and Hands of East Texas Christian Women’s Job Corps in Lindale and the Northeast Texas Heart of Hope pregnancy care center in Sulphur Springs. We performed a live nativity scene December 2023 at our church to celebrate the birth of baby Jesus. We invited the community into our fellowship hall for cookies and hot chocolate. It was an opportunity to witness to visitors of the miracle of Jesus’ birth as the Messiah and Savior. We value Biblical teaching and preaching in order to spread the Gospel. There is a desire to love the Lord and grow deeper in the faith but also to grow in numbers with the addition of youth, children, and young families. We are a friendly church and a praying church—God’s church. We care about others and want to share Jesus Christ in our church and around our neighborhood and community.

1-21-25 Seeking a Part-Time Minister of Music Dean Baptist Church Tyler, Texas Church Overview: Dean Baptist Church is a small and historic congregation located in the Tyler, Texas area, serving the community since the 1850s. We are a devoted family of 50 members (and growing), committed to traditional Christian and Baptist principles. We are affiliated with the Baptist General Convention of Texas, the Southern Baptist Convention, and the Smith Baptist Association. Job Description: The Ministry Intern for Music & Children (MIMC) will work closely with the Children's Director and Minister of Music in a support capacity to help ensure both ministries are running efficiently. The MIMC will split their time between both ministries, primarily assisting with programming needs for the Calvary Kids Ministry and focusing on Sound system and AV support for the Music Ministry. There will also be an opportunity to assist with other church Ministry needs as they arise. The MIMC will be required to attend weekly staff meetings to align with other Calvary Staff on tasks and priorities. The MIMC will report directly to the Senior Pastor.
Key Responsibilities: Support the Calvary Kids Ministry (ages ~2-12) Children's Ministry Director to engage children at all times actively. Lead age-appropriate children’s activities. Accurately present the gospel and facilitate discussion as needed. Positively help manage the behavior of students. Support the Calvary Music Ministry as the primary Sound/AV technician for Wednesday evening rehearsals, Sunday morning rehearsals, Sunday morning church service, and other special events as needed.
Other duties as assigned related to the mission and ministry of Calvary Baptist Church Requirements. Must be a baptized believer in Jesus Christ. Must have an active relationship with Jesus Christ. Must enjoy working with children. Must complete a background check. Prior knowledge about music and sound systems a plus.
