We are looking for a music minister who has a passion for music and loves the Lord. We are seeking someone who enjoys contemporary and traditional music and can combine both to lead a meaningful worship experience.

Must be able to direct a choir and collaborate with them, the praise team, and the pastor to coordinate worship services and other church activities that may involve music.

This is a part-time position, which will allow for flexible scheduling if all duties are performed accordingly. Salary will be based on experience and education.

1-21-25 Seeking a Part-Time Minister of Music Dean Baptist Church Tyler, Texas Church Overview:   Dean Baptist Church is a small and historic congregation located in the Tyler, Texas area, serving the community since the 1850s. We are a devoted family of 50 members (and growing), committed to traditional Christian and Baptist principles. We are affiliated with the Baptist General Convention of Texas, the Southern Baptist Convention, and the Smith Baptist Association. Our chosen Statement of Faith is the ‘Baptist Faith and Message 2000.’ Though small, we are passionate about worship and are seeking a dedicated Minister of Music to help us grow in our worship expression. Dean recently called a young pastor and is now seeking to increase our effectiveness as a team with a creative, flexible, and spiritually mature Minister of Music. Position Purpose: The Minister of Music will prepare and lead the congregation in both traditional hymns and contemporary worship music during Sunday morning services and other special events as needed. This individual will also help train and guide musicians, fostering consistency and growth within the music ministry. Duties and Responsibilities ● Lead the congregation in worship during Sunday morning services. ● Select appropriate music in collaboration with the pastor to align with the sermon and theme of the service. ● Conduct weekly rehearsals and coordinate musicians, ensuring they are well-prepared for services. ● Mentor and train musicians, building a strong and consistent team of volunteers in the music ministry. ● Plan and lead music for special events, including Easter services, Christmas Eve, and other non-Sunday events as scheduled. ● Provide non-pastoral guidance and support to the music ministry, with potential for greater involvement as the church grows. ● Ensure the music ministry reflects the church's mission and enhances the worship experience. Qualifications and Experience ● Experience in leading worship in both contemporary Christian music and traditional hymns, or a flexible willingness to learn something new. ● Strong musical skills, including the ability to play an instrument and lead vocally. ● Experience in coordinating and training volunteer or inexperienced musicians. ● Ability to work collaboratively with the pastor to plan cohesive worship services. ● Familiarity with Southern Baptist worship practices and values is preferred. Overview Of Position At Calvary Baptist Church, part of our priorities is to extend the grace of God outward through mission and ministry. One way we accomplish this is by creating ministry opportunities for young men and women to develop in their Christian walk and to grow as ministers of the gospel of Jesus Christ. Our Ministry Intern for Music and Children (MIMC) position has been created to do just that. Under the supervision and mentorship of our Senior Pastor and in collaboration with our Children’s Director and Minister of Music, we aim to provide a training ground to those who aim to serve God in a Ministry setting. Interns will receive practical experience and intentional discipleship in a local church setting and can grow and learn in various areas of ministry.

Job Description: The Ministry Intern for Music & Children (MIMC) will work closely with the Children's Director and Minister of Music in a support capacity to help ensure both ministries are running efficiently. The MIMC will split their time between both ministries, primarily assisting with programming needs for the Calvary Kids Ministry and focusing on Sound system and AV support for the Music Ministry. There will also be an opportunity to assist with other church Ministry needs as they arise. The MIMC will be required to attend weekly staff meetings to align with other Calvary Staff on tasks and priorities. The MIMC will report directly to the Senior Pastor. 


Key Responsibilities: Support the Calvary Kids Ministry (ages ~2-12) Children's Ministry Director to engage children at all times actively. Lead age-appropriate children’s activities. Accurately present the gospel and facilitate discussion as needed. Positively help manage the behavior of students. Support the Calvary Music Ministry as the primary Sound/AV technician for Wednesday evening rehearsals, Sunday morning rehearsals, Sunday morning church service, and other special events as needed. 


Other duties as assigned related to the mission and ministry of Calvary Baptist Church Requirements.  Must be a baptized believer in Jesus Christ. Must have an active relationship with Jesus Christ.  Must enjoy working with children.  Must complete a background check. Prior knowledge about music and sound systems a plus.

Youth/Student Pastor (Youth Minister)

About the Position

Calvary Baptist Church of Nacogdoches is seeking a Youth/Student Pastor to disciple and lead middle school, high school, and college students under the leadership of the Senior Pastor. This role focuses on spiritual growth, discipleship, outreach, and leadership development while engaging students and their families in the life of the church.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and lead weekly youth and college ministries, Bible studies, retreats, mission trips, and outreach events.
  • Disciple students and equip parents in spiritual leadership at home.
  • Provide pastoral care through counseling, visitation, and crisis support.
  • Recruit and mentor volunteer leaders to serve in student ministry.
  • Collaborate with church leadership on student worship, education, and service.
  • Oversee and manage the youth and college ministry budget.

Qualifications

About Us:  First Baptist Church Alba is a gospel-centered family on a mission to spread the word of Jesus in a small town that is expanding quickly and has a strong sense of community. Our church is proudly associated with the Smith Baptist Association and embraces the BFM, the Baptist Faith and Message.

The position includes Sunday morning and Wednesday services. The Minister of Youth is responsible for the church, under the direction of the Pastor, providing opportunities for Biblical study, spiritual growth, and Christian recreation. He will consult with the Pastor concerning activities, policies, and procedures related to his area of responsibility at least once a month or more frequently as needed.  Raise student/youth volunteers to invest in and lead various program elements, plan special educational/recreational activities at least once a month for youth apart from regular church services, and perform other duties as assigned by the Pastor.
